Abstract EN

This Qualitative study examines the cognitive dimensions of the debate about the concept of cultural security, the contexts where it is shaped, the scientific methods to its settlement in the Algerian communication environment.

Especially with its increasing power and the use of its diverse networks and multimedia apps, its risks and threats in an open cyberspace.

We conclude that it is imperative to surpass traditional authoritarian approach to cultural security and adopt a comprehensive one, based on manufacturing individual and collective awareness and vigilance, to recognize its constructive uses from harmful ones.

By shaping a free, rational human being, supportive of the national effort to govern, moralize new media, improve its outputs, accumulate its symbolic cultural capital in support of the humanization of values and coexistence, create and sustain cultural security in Algeria.
