Abstract EN

This paper aims to study grammatical phenomena related to function and meaning in the Book of Sibawayh by Iraqi researchers.

Thus, the paper comprised studying the dispensing phenomenon with as it occupies a large part in Sibawayh's analytical methodology of structures, forms and linguistic methods.

Furthermore, the paper dealt with the ellipsis phenomenon as Sibawayh relied on ellipting many elements that arise in the structure of a sentence that are repeated in speech and ellipted what the listener can understand based on current or narrative evidence.

The paper ended with a conclusion that summed up the most significant findings.
