Abstract EN

The research aims to know the reality of information awareness for Faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences and Public Health students at the University of West Kordofan.

To achieve this, the researchers used the documentary and descriptive approach in both parts of the case study and the survey and employed a questionnaire to collect data.

The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are the following.

Students have a high awareness in the process of identifying the required information and identifying potential sources for obtaining it, and they have the ability to summarize the main ideas contained in the information they collect, students have difficulty in the process of extracting, recording, and managing information and its sources.

,the weakness of students' information awareness in the process of evaluating information and its sources, and the inability to apply relevant standards and there is a high awareness among students and an understanding of the legal and ethical issues related to the use of information sources while adhering to the laws and regulations related to them.

The research recommend the following search: The necessity of integrating information literacy programs into the education development and reform system as a whole and the necessity of developing information awareness programs and their skills.
