Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to diagnose the reality of the errors of middle-school students in the concepts of physical fitness and the awareness of their teachers of them.

The sample consisted of (100) middle-school students and a sample of their teachers numbered (20) teachers.

The results of the study showed that middle-school students have various errors in the concepts of fitness, including: the concept of cardiorespiratory fitness; the concept of musculoskeletal fitness; the concept of physical composition; the concept of flexibility; the concept of speed; the concept of fitness.

The results also showed the lack of awareness of physical-education teachers of the errors of their students in the middle stage in the concepts of fitness.

The results also showed that the most important reasons for students’ errors were: Bad boot by the teacher and lack of conciliation in the introduction to the lesson; inability to develop an appropriate teaching plan to teach the concepts of fitness; inability to analyze the fitness concept to its components; inability to the use of different strategies in teaching the concepts of physical fitness; the teacher's failure to use the behavior of the students in the assessment of the concepts of fitness; the inability to formulate and direct questions during the teaching of the concept of fitness; and the inability to constantly detect the existence of misconceptions in students.

The study provided a suggested scenario for correcting errors in the physical fitness concepts in students in the intermediate stage.
