This research attempts to stand on the efforts of one of our well-known modern scholars in criticizing Arabic grammar, professor Ibrahim Mustafa.

it highlighting his vision of the Arabic grammatical text and the shortcomings in grammatical consideration, and the issues it should include.

moreover, it discusses what was presented to him in his book (Iihya Alnahw) from the issues of the grammatical text.

the research concluded that the man's ideas were praised by those who supported the cause, while others were rejected and not accepted, and encouraged some of his students to follow the same approach.

his criticism is that the Arabic grammar lesson is limited to the sentence, and the necessity of transcending it to the phrase; an early vision of the features of the textual lesson that linguistic and literary studies knew decades after his death.
