During the Zayanian period, Tlemcen was considered one of the metropolises of the Islamic Maghreb, and among the thinkers and figures that Tlemcen gave birth to in the seventh century, the mystic and poet Muhammad bin Khamis, The aim of this article is that we will unveil the poetic and mystical heritage of Ibn khamis, and we will follow the historical and analytical method by analyzing some of Ibn Khamis' poems that embody suffering, nostalgia and longing for his homeland as he remembers the historical and religious landmarks of Tlemcen.

Ibn Khamis uses it in his poems to express the reality of suffering, pain and longing while he is far from his homeland.

As for the results that we reached in this research after reviewing the effects of Ibn Khamis that he was honest, loyal and loving to his homeland Tlemcen, , we also extract from his poems the mystical approach that he followed.
