The digital revolution and technological developments in the world, which have stretched the economic space to produce the digital economy, have contributed, especially with the emergence of new technologies, this paper attempts to explore the history of the genesis and economic characteristics of cryptocurrencies that have been widespread, because of the advantages that distinguish them from money in their traditional forms.

The scale and types of such techniques and their significant impact on the financial and banking industry, in particular the payment and transfer of funds through sophisticated payment and settlement systems, have led some institutions around the world to accept them as a means of payment.
