Effect of water salanity, vermicompost and Mycorrhiza on the Availability of some soil Nutrient and Growth and Yield of Millet (pannisetum glaucum) AFactorial Experiment with three factors was conducted in plastic posts using Ranolomized complete Block design (RCBD) with three replients.
The Experiment included 54 experimental units resulted from the combination between two levels of Mycorrhizal biofertilizer (Glomas mosseae), three levels of vermicompost (0, 10, 20 tha-1) and three levels of irrigation water (1.2, 3 and 5 dsm-1) to evaluate the effect of these three factors on the availability of NPK, growth and grain Yield of Millet.
Results showed significant increase in the available concentrtions NPK in soil due to mycorrhiza addition that gave the value 46.10, 12.00 and 192.93 mgk-1 resipectvely.
Addation of 20 tha-1 vermicompost gave NPK available concentration 50.19, 12.14 and 207.50 mgk-1 respctively, while irrigation with 1.2 dsm-1 water gave NPK available concentration of 46.17, 12.52 and 197.67 mgk-1.
The electrical conductivity was 4.91dsm-1, 4.54 dsm-1 and 3.82 dsm-1 with the treatments mycorrhiza, 20 tha-1 vermicompost and 1.2 dsm-1 water respectively.
Results showed significant increase in plant height, leat area and shoot dry weight due to the addition of mycorrihzal biofertilizer that gave 39.40cm, 218.0 cm2 plant-1 and 5.28 tha-1 respectively while these value were 41.86cm, 250.80cm2 plant-1 and 5.66 tha-1 due to addition of 20 tha-1 vermicompost but the irrigation with water of 1.2 dsm-1 gave 40.70cm, 227.30 cm2 plant-1 and 6.36 tha-1 respectively.
