Countries around the world are working to mitigate and limit violations of international humanitarian law through mechanisms that are less amenable to reparation, as they strive to deal with such violations after they have been committed and after having serious consequences for the state, individuals and the environment.

The most important of these mechanisms is the issue of the dissemination of the provisions of international humanitarian law relating to the environment, particularly within States, both at the civilian and military levels, to which the State has paid much attention.

A number of national, international and regional organizations are in charge of dissemination, using all the means at their disposal and in coordination with State agencies
