Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the levels of the summative assessments taken by bachelor students in the Department of Social Sciences at the Oum El-Bouaghi university¸ according to Bloom's taxonomy in the cognitive domain.

Adopting the descriptive method¸a sample of 33 exam papers that contain 159 questions in different specialtieshad been analyse dusing a content analysis technique.

The results showed that the summative assessments covered all Bloom's thinking levels, however; they tend to focus more on lowest levels in particular recall, comprehension, and application.

Comprehension level comes in the first place¸ followed by recalling and application¸and last the level of evaluation with the lowest percentage.
