The housing file is considered currently as a major consern for the algerian government since the independence.

Here, the state takes on its shoulders the responsibility of financing and accomplishing different housing.

This includes the supervision on housing delivery process also to the different social categories.

The reason that led the state to this monopoly is because housing is a constitutionally acknowledged right.

Furthermore, the state owns enough real estates to embody the scheduled housing programs.

In fact, the housing finance process is regarded as main factor for the accomplishment process.

Thus, even if we bear in mind the fact that the public treasury is the primary financing source, we wonder about the role of public banks and to what extent do they contribute to the financing of housing programs.
