By drawing on the contributions of the postmodern trend related to bio-politics; This paper explores China's practices in East-Turkistan, in which the concepts of life, body, power, and sovereignty overlap.

The paper raises the following question: Why can the situation of Uyghurs be described as a manifestation of bio-politics in its Agambenian and Foucauldian concepts? To answer that, the paper first explores the theoretical level by reviewing the most important postmodern writings on bio-politics.

As for the practical level, the paper attempts to project these theories on the situation in East-Turkestan by extrapolating important events to show whether they fit with the analyzes and understandings offered by those theories.

The paper ends with an emphasis of the role of war on terrorism in China's activation of exceptional and panopticist bio-politics, stressing the limitations of asking the why question and the need to follow it with the question of how
