The principle of good faith has become one of the basic principles in contemporary laws, because of its importance in the contract despite the difficulty of having a comprehensive and prohibitive definition of it, as some used it as a synonym for integrity in dealing, trust and honesty.

The problem of our study was the following question: What is the role of the principle of good faith in Contract? To answer this proposed problem, this study relied on the analytical method, and this is through the analysis of the legal texts related to the principle of good faith in the contract in the Algerian legislation, and the comparative approach in some cases to show the extent to which the Algerian legislator adopts this principle in its legislative texts by comparing it with the French legislation
