Abstract EN

A number of works have dealt with the socio political and economic history of Algeria under the Ottoman protectorate; yet the intellectual and cultural life of this period remains poorly explored.

Although Algerian during this period had seen a scientific movement which was based on many cultural edifices starting from Mosque, Zaouia and Kottab.

This study aims to represent the Algerian literary during the Ottoman period; the study highlights the characteristics of the literature that existed during the Ottoman era.

The extolment and collection of letters hand written suppose more studies and interest for being an essential factor in cultural life in Algeria under the period Ottoman.
