This study is about a description of the theory of onomatopoeia، defining its concept and showing the critics opinions.

In this study، the researcher applied this theory on Al-Hatea poetry.

By repeating some sounds that had a role in knowing the meaning of the words.

It was applied on three items of Al-Hatea poetry، they were: idea، image and tone.

The researcher conducted a phonetic analysis on the poems which he chose.

The phonetic analysis contributed to adding a new features in for poem.

this phonetic analysis is considered to literary and rhetorical analysis that used as an approach of poetic text analysis.
