This study deals with a topic that touches the daily social reality in many regions of Iraq that have been exposed to the threat of terrorism and its repercussions, leaving a reality different from what the people of the community have known for decades and even for centuries to live in safety, tolerance, good neighborliness and acceptance of the other under an umbrella of human values based on instinct and freedom Justice and social equality, in a multi-religious, multi-ethnic and multi-sectarian society, as the focus will be on the concept of peaceful coexistence and the foundations on which it is based, in addition to its principles and components, while addressing the issue of terrorism and its repercussions on peaceful coexistence, which is one of the basic pillars of the social system, the development of societies and the achievement of development sustainable development, identifying some of the problems that impede its achievement at the present time, and presenting some suggestions and remedies.
