Abstract EN

This research deals with the study and investigation of a manuscript concerning an explanation provided by Ibn Al-Nashar (938 AH/1531 AD), an Egyptian Shafi’i reciter, for the book of Ibn Al-Jazari titled “The Precious Necklace” which he called “The Essential Necklace in Solving the Puzzles of Al-Jazari”.Through this investigation, a set of results were found, most notably that the date of Ibn Al-Nashar’s death was in 938 AH, as he mentioned in this manuscript that he began to explain it in 903 AH, i.e.

after 900 AH, and it is likely that his death was in 938 AH, or on the least estimate after 900 AH.

The study also revealed that the manuscript was written by Ibn Al-Nashar, and that he started it after 903 AH.
