Abstract EN

This study investigates the prevailing security situation in the Red Sea during the period from (1970) to (1973) and the Israeli penetration attempts in the western and eastern coasts of the sea to impose its dominance on its islands using various political and military means.

It also focuses on the role of the coordination between Yemen and Egypt whether in posing this serious issue before the League of Arab States or in the joint military coordination and cooperation between Yemeni and Egyptian forces.

Therefore, the historical analytical method is used in this study which consists of five main sections.

The first section of the study presents the geographical location of Yemen and Egypt in relation to the Red sea.

The second section focuses on the Israeli Strategy at the Red Sea.

The third section highlights the role of Yemen in the national security of the Red sea during the period from (1970-1973).

The fourth section shows the Yemeni-Egyptian coordination in preserving the national security and confronting the Israeli penetration in the Red sea.

The last section explores the role of Yemen in October war of 1973.The findings of the study has revealed the prominent role of Southern and Northern Yemen in warning about the danger of the Israeli penetration in the region through addressing the League of Arab States.
