Abstract EN

This research attempts to show the importance of evaluating the efficiency of the paved road network between the administrative cities in the districts of Hodaida Governorate in the Republic of Yemen by using quantitative methods.

The main purpose of this research has therefore been to evaluate the extent of efficiency of the network, the degree of its connectivity, the centrality of its nodes and the ease of access, aiming to identify the most important obstacles in the network and to provide proposals for the concerned authorities.

The major findings of the study revealed an increase in the rate of turns in roads which pass over high lands and in roads whose junctions pass through other junctions of already constructed roads over the lowlands.

It was also found that the degree of interconnection between cities in the governorate was appropriate, but it did not reach the full network, and that the Governorate of Hodeida ranked first in the centrality of the network between nodes and in the accessibility between cities in the variables that were used for measurement and analysis.
