Abstract EN

This research deals with one of the many schools of Orientalism, which is the “French Oriental School.

” The researcher defines that school, and shows its history and the first indications for the emergence of that school.

Moreover, the research presents its maturity as an Orientalist school until the present time, and the most prominent advantages that distinguish it from the other schools of Orientalism.

This research also introduces the most prominent figures of this school and their efforts to serve the Islamic heritage through the works that they carried out.

Their works include: translation, investigation, publication, and collecting and indexing manuscripts.

They also published topics related to the Islamic East and made trips to islamic countries to master their languages and to understand and study them on the ground.

The conclusion of this research includes the most prominent results and the recommendations of the researcher.
