Abstract EN

A fundamental question from which this research stems is whether we can consider Maqtalul-Hussein sermon as a literary genre, in spite of the fact that it is closed in terms of its structure and general form , it has a complete orientation towards a well-known human Muslim group , in addition to its peculiar characteristics , requirements and purposes that make it a kind of discourse which addresses a specific content.

this discourse delivers a certain information on a particular incident in order to influence the recipients, not only for the purpose of shedding tears and recalling that tragic incident, but for other purposes necessary in certain religious occasions.

the study tries to find an answer to the above question.

however, we do not t claim that it has the decisive and final view point or findings which may seem a little bit contrary to the actual literary stand point.
