Magdy eldagherThe study aimed to identify the reasons for the decline in the economics of the Saudi printed press, as well as to identify the feeling of the administrative and financial press leaders of the decline in the economics of printed newspapers in front of the new media, and the methods of the press leaders' dealing with this decline, and the most prominent challenges, options and opportunities available for the return of printed newspapers again.

The study relied on the survey method and the interview tool applied to 20 Saudi press leaders and journalism professors in the Kingdom.

The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is the lack of a vision for the press leaders, who dealt negligently with the crisis from the beginning, and keeping pace with technology and the danger of Internet platforms on printed newspapers, where the press administration faces a set of challenges, including the high expenses of issuing the newspaper after it turned into a huge industry and became the issuance of the newspaper.

The newspaper is an expensive and expensive operation, hence the problems related to the financing of newspapers, which depended on advertising revenue for their financing, and gave advertisers economic control over newspapers, which affected their independence.
