Abstract EN

The research dealt with social media among first-year students at the Faculty of Education (Boys) at Al-Azhar University, Assiut Branch, and this study was conducted during the academic year 2020/2021 AD.

The College of Education consists of six departments.

The total number of first-year students is 575 students during the study year.

A sample of 180 students was taken for the study.

In that study, the researcher dealt with the concept of social media.

Do the students of the study have a clear definition of the concept of social media, as well as the most important reasons for using the students Social media, as well as the most important times in which students prefer to use social media, as well as the number of hours of using social media during a day, the most important social media frequented by students, as well as the most important negatives of using social media for students.

In that study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method that suits the subject of the study, and the most important results of the research were the following: Most students of the study have a clear definition of the concept of social media.

Academic and scientific purposes and communication with family and friends are among the most important reasons why students use social media.
