Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to identify the views of orientalists in Islamic art.

I chose the American orientalist Richard Ettinghausen, who showed great interest in this art.

But in fact, we find that most of what he wrote about Islamic art is far from his philosophy, as most of his opinions point to the ence of artistic habits among Arand Muslims Most of his views agree that Arab-Islamic civilization has not produced a systematic theoretical discourse on aesthetics and artistic practice.

According to his belief, it is impossible to find in Arand Muslims an Islamic depiction in which there are special religious symbols or decorative art that has a meaning that expresses the Islamic personality, and all we have of art is the source of the influence of the arts of previous civilizations.
