Abstract EN

This research seeks to interrogate the otherness of women in the novel "The Lady of the Maqam" by Wasini al-Araj, in the sense that women have occupied an important place in the narrative discourse, there is no otherness without the otherness of women.

Accordingly, we dealt with images that manifest this otherness, based on the presence of women in the text, whether she was rebellious or persecuted, then “Mariam” Our Lady of the Maqam was a model for both oppressed and rebellious women, and even the woman sprawl.

But how was this last embodied in our fictional text? This is what we tried to approach through this research.
