Learning of French as a foreign language generally, and specifically speaking, is, for a long time, one of the weak points among the learners of Algerian South.
Indeed, several researches, including those of Boudebia-Baala (2012) and Miloudi (2019) in the field of education, confirmed this alarming reality in the Souf region.
In this article we will try analyze the linguistic biographies of second year’s master students of French language in El Oued university, major: didactic and applied languages, to understand the reasons behind this problem; moreover, we will investigate to what extent the influence of representations and linguistic insecurity on the learning process,especially oral,in order to make proposals that can improve this situation.

L'apprentissage du français en tant que langue étrangère généralement, et celui de l'oral en l'occurrence, est, depuis longtemps, un des points faibles des apprenants du Sud algérien.
En effet, plusieurs recherches, y compris celles de Boudebia-Baala et Miloudi dans le domaine de l'éducation, ont confirmé cette réalité alarmante dans la région du Souf.
Dans le présent article, nous tenterons à travers l'analyse des biographies langagières des étudiants de master 2, langue française à l'université d'El Oued, spécialité didactique et langues appliquées, de comprendre les raisons qui expliquent cette situation indésirable et de connaitre l'influence des représentations et de l'insécurité linguistique sur le processus d'apprentissage, notamment à l'oral afin de faire des propositions qui peuvent améliorer la situation en question.
