Abstract EN

The Algerian university is gradually heading towards the adoption of distance education, in the aftermath of Covid-19, to ensure the continuity of higher education and scientific research.

Since the virus caused the closure of many educational institutions, including universities, this new type of non-attendance education has become a reflection of higher education strategies that seek to activate and revive the teaching-learning process in light of the persisting pandemic outbreak.

This research seeks to showcase the importance of adopting distance education in the Algerian university as a strategic choice that could improve higher education overall, and the necessity of embracing this new educational approach as the Covid-19 pandemic still persists.

It also seeks to pinpoint the major impediments causing the inefficacy of such a novel educational approach; mainly, the unwillingness of the educational board and students alike to be accepting and receptive of distance education.
