Abstract EN

This article aims to study the impact of the external factor on the democratic transition in the Arab Maghreb countries, by addressing the actors affecting this path, such as the efforts made by major powers and international institutions, and focusing on the various tools used by these actors, whether it is related to military tools (intervention) Or non-military tools (political, diplomatic, economic).

In the end, it was concluded that the possibilities of democratic transformation in the countries of the Maghreb declined due to negative external factors that gave priority to protecting Western economic and security interests, at the expense of advancing the path of democratization and laying democratic foundations in these countries.
