This study aims to analyze the issue of security and democracy in the Maghreb, and to show how its countries struggle between security and democracy.

After it was hoped that democracy would be a lever for security, it became a cause of the security threat, which gave rise to the dialectic of cause and effect, and the study came to the conclusion that the embodiment of democracy with the aim of achieving security in the Maghreb requires special conditions.
