Abstract EN

Dictionaries are regarded as the exhaustive recipients of all the words of a given language.

Being so lexically rich and a derivational language, Arabic is endowed with a large variety of dictionaries ( oral, alphabetically organized according either to entries or endings.

Recently a new type of dictionaries came into existence, specially designed for schoolchildren, claim their designers and editors.

These latter claim that such dictionaries are designed to meet the young learners needs, competences and intellectual skills.

Our work will focus on the specificities of the said dictionaries and check whether they really meet the needs of the target audience.
