Abstract EN

The main objective of the study is to analyze empirically major determinants of the private investment behavior in Saudi Arabia in the period 1969-2000.

Determinants included are economic growth, gross domestic product, government investment, openness level, government loans, and the domestic inflation rate.

To achieve the aim of ths study, the cointegration and errorcorrection models are applied..

The statistical results show that the time series of variables are non-stationary in levels and first-difference stationary.

The cointegration test sugest that the time series of variables are cointegrated and achieve an equilibrium in the long run.

The errorcorrection model results seem to be consisted with study expectation the private investment are determined by the macroeconomic factors discussed in the study.
