Almost all History of Economics Thought Books have neglecte، the very big a^،l clear gap of European history of economic thought.
Joseph Schumpeter maybe was the only exception, he calle،l it “The Great Gap”, he was lenient to the ؛،lea that the European in the Medieval may have contributed to the economic thought, “but if they did, however, the results have been lost”.
The main purpose ofthis article is to investigate the nature and the resources behind this gap; so that we can answer the main question: was it a real gap? Or a gap ٨؛ our knowledge about the medieval political, economic, social, cultural, and legal affairs...ete? Using different European general and speeialized historical reasons, covering the Medieval period and the period prior and after it.
The conclusion was that: it was a real gap, there was no economic thought contribution has been traced from western Europe during the dark period of the Medieval (400-1000 A.D.).
