Abstract EN

This paper aims to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and and the achievement motivation of second year students in Jijel University.

As well as highlighting the differences between the two retained variables for this population by taking into account the specialization and the sex.

This will be done thanks to the use the interactive demonstration method.

This study has concerned a sample of 368 students.

The study has been based on the test of “Abdelaziz Dourini” on the measure of self- esteem and those published on the children’s and adults achievement motivation test by “Hermens” (translation by “F.

Abdelfateh Mussa”).

To confirm the existence or non existence of these suppositions, we were obliged to use the coefficient of relation of “Pearson” to demonstrate the relation between the two variables, and the “T Test” to indicate the difference.

After studies of these statistical results, we have reached the following conclusions: There exist a statistical relation to the level (0,01) between the self-esteem and the achievement motivation of the students of the second year of the university of Jijel.

There exist some differences of statistic indication to the level (0,01) between the students of the second year of the university of Jijel in there achievement motivation due to the differences of level of their self-esteem(high-low).

There exist no differences of statistic indication between the boys and the girls in their self-esteem.

There exist some differences of statistic indication to the level (0,01) between the boys and the girls in their achievement motivation.

There exist no differences of statistic indication between the students of sciences and technology and those literatures and human sciences in their self-esteem and in their achievement motivation.
