Archival documents are material whose extensions are defined in the social and economic realities of countries, and thus, European researchers have; therefore, sought to study and disseminate them to preserve the historical memory of peoples and nations.

The Spanish Archive is one of the largest archives in terms of the quantity of documents it contains concerning the history of Arab and Islamic countries.

This is due to the historical relations which It has known in the previous eras, especially with the Maghreb countries and their natural geographical location, which naturally led to the diversity and attraction of relations.

Algeria, in this case, has historically played distinct roles that have made it enter into divergent relations with the Mediterraneancountries, especially Spain.

In this context, the subject raises an important issue about how much can be collected from the Spanish archive on Algeria in various political, economic, social and cultural aspects during the modern and contemporary period? And to what extent the researcher can benefit from these documents in the writing of national history.
