Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the perception of librarians in Palestine towards qualification and training Another objective was to identify the effect of the variables of gender, academic qualification, experience and library type on the perception of respondents to the current qualification and training efforts of librarians in Palestine.

For achieving the study’s objectives, 30 items questionnaire was developed, distributed to 40 librarians in Palestine representing the study sample.

Data was collected and statistically processed using the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS).

Results showed a high degree of satisfaction of respondents about the main question of qualification and training in the field of libraries and information in Palestine.

Also, they showed there are no statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) attributed to qualification and training in the field of libraries and information in Palestine attributed to the variables gender, academic qualification, experience.

On the other hand, there are statistically significant differences attributed to the variable of and library type.

Several recommendations have been suggested according to the results.
