Abstract EN

This paper deals with the historical development of the various libraries in Jordan from the beginning in the 20s of the last century until the year 2021, by shedding light on the most important historical events experienced by the library movement in Jordan during the first 100 years of the Jordanian state.

The paper also covers developments in the Jordan Library and Information Association from 1965 to 2021.

It provides information on library science teaching programs in Jordan since 1966 until today.

The information was collected through published sources, especially the Directory of Libraries in Jordan, and through the researcher's experience in the field, which extends for more than 40 years.
