Social law and the role of the social legislator have witnessed an important development, which reinforced protection for the weak party in labor relations.

As a result, the worker has come to enjoy many privileges and legal protections, including the wage as the most important obligation of the employer, given its nature for the worker and his family as well.

The wage is one of the basic elements in the labor contract, and the UAE legislator has preserved the wage of the worker in accordance with national as well as international laws.

In order to investigate the importance of protecting the wage of a worker in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Labor Law, this research has been divided into an introduction and four sections: the first section is entitled ‘the guarantees of the payment of wages’, the second section has the the title ‘the protection of wages in confronting the employer’, the third section comes under the heading ‘the protection of wages vis-à-vis the worker’s creditors’, while the last section is entitled ‘the protection of the minimum wage’.

The researcher reached many results, the most important of which is that: the wage is one of the essential elements in the work contract, and the contract is not an employment contract unless the work is rewarded and the approval of the worker and the employer is obtained.

The researcher recommended that the Emirati legislator must provide an explicit article for the definition of acceptance and remuneration in the work contract, as well as the difference between basic and gross remuneration.
