Abstract EN

This research aims to shed light on the question of jurisprudential criticism by Imam Ibn al - Fakhar al - Qurtubi, and on the fact that this phenomenon was prominent in compilations that were examined for evaluating the sources of doctrine and responding to those who violated it.

The study included three sections: the first concerned the tributaries of jurisprudential criticism according to Ibn al - Fakhar; the second explored the purposes of his criticism; while the third concerned the tools of jurisprudential criticism according him.

Among the results of the study is that the jurisprudential criticism of this critic revolved around two original purposes: inspecting the doctrine, maintaining its prestige among the followers, and confronting the doctrines opposed to it, so as to ensure its legislative development.

In order for the two purposes to be fulfilled, critical tools such as the science of the principles of jurisprudence, hadith science and linguistics were used, which reflect - in a clear way - the broad views of the critic and his mastery of Sharia knowledge.
