Abstract EN

This study aims to investigate the effect of increasing Bioful world production on Developing countries and to give some recommendations regarding Saudi agriculture .

The study showed an increasing trend of the world Biofuel production, which consequently have strongly affected the prices of the agricultural products involved in producing Ethanol and Biodisel.

An increasing expantion of the demand on Biofuel is obvious.

This is simply due to the targets established by the producing countries (mainly U.S.A, Barazil, europian union, china and India).

It is expected that a strong competition on agricultural products for human feeding uses and for producing Biofuel will always lead to an increasing world food prices.

Increasing biofuel production has also affected the prices of animal products, such as animal production depends mainly on grains and residuals as fooder.

Industrial countries have strong arguments to increase Biofeul production.

On the one hand the prices of such products is almost now equal to the gasoline prices on the other hand the farmers in such countries will gain much profit when selling agricultural products to the Biofeul plants.

The residuals from getting Biofuel could also be processed and sold as fooder.

The study expected a continuously increasing trend of Biofuel production and consequently an increasing food prices.

The provious expected conditions of the world biofuel production and the world food prices would set challenges for the developing countries.

They will be forced to get food for higher prices .and they will be threatend by an incufficient supply of food on the world market.Main food importers will be highly affected by such new world conditions.

The study gives some recommendations which might be useful for Saudi agriculture concering water use , cropping patterns, inventory, and self sufficiency of food items and animal fooder.
