Abstract EN

The term “terrorist gravity” is a term introduced by the UAE legislator in the Federal Law No.

7 of 2014 concerning the combat of terrorist crimes.

An individual has a terrorist nature, according to article 41 of this law, if he adopts an extremist or terrorist ideology and it is feared that s/he might commit a terrorist crime in the future.

Should an individual be characterized by having a terrorist nature, then he will be subject to some of the measures provided for in this law.

This study is intended at illustrating the concept of terrorist gravity, the means of detection, the implications thereof, once proven, and how was this dealt with by the UAE legislature in a general sense.
