Many airlines are often forced to join alliances with other airlines, because of the advantages achieved by the alliance, both for companies and for the public.

The alliance in air transport means “a union of two or more companies having the same interests and work in the same field, aiming at achieving gains for member companies.” The alliance aims to profit, increase revenues and rationalize expenditures by opening new markets in places where they have never been present, and to reduce costs by participating in the provision of services.

The alliance has legal implications, the most important of which are: the obligations arising from the contract of air transport, such as the commitment to complete the condition of transport through the aircraft and from place to place, to maintain the safety of passengers and goods, as well as the commitment not to delay.

In the case of air transport companies’ violation of their obligations, these companies will be responsible and committed to compensate the injured for the incurred damage.
