Abstract EN

The procedure of interrogation is considered as one of the most important and serious procedures of initial investigation made by prosecutors against the defendant, because of its dual special nature that distinguishes it from other actions.

It is an investigation through which evidence is collected, and at the same time it is a defensive procedure through which the accused can deny the addressed accusations, refute the evidence against him, and prove his innocence.

It is a procedure that helps reach the truth, through its distinctive nature, because the accused enjoys many safeguards ensuring his right to self-defense, and because this procedure is different from other similar procedures.

Through this research, we will deal with the main differences between this procedure and the other similar ones.

The study includes an introduction, three sections and a conclusion.

The first section discusses the difference between investigation and the interrogation of the defendant.

The second section deals with the difference between questioning and asking for clarification; while the third section addresses the difference between interrogating and hearing the witness.

Finally, the conclusion includes the main findings and recommendations.
