Abstract EN

This research aims at studying the issue of abridging narration among narrators in an authenticating and critical way, in terms of concepts, rules, reasons, regulation, and impaact on the narrators and the narrated.

The researcher used the inductive approach for the narratives that are written by the specialists in this field, and then he benefited from this in covering the details and the research issues in light of the deductive approoch.

The study showed that the fact of abridging among narrators (AL-Muhaditheen) lies in deleting a part of the text, either by limiting the use of words or by formulating the text AL-Matin’ acconding to their own understanding of the meaning.

The research accurately made it clear that the origin of narrating any Hadeeth is as the narrator heard it without deleting any part of the text (Matin) in conformity with the prophet’s guidance.

However, the specialists pointed out that if abridging occurs, it has to be based on specifc regulations that guarantee the preservation of the meaning of the abridged text, so that it will be accpted.

Furthermore, the study revealed that there are reasons behind the phenomenon of abridging among narrators and Imams.

Most of these reasons are scientific and methodological, and others are due to the errors of narrators and their miscondact in the process.

This study concluded that the abridging of “Matin” mostly has negative effects, either due to the errors of narrators who resort t abridging or due to the nature of the narration itself.
