Abstract EN

The Sudy aimed to identify Characteristics of Barley's Farmers in Al-hasaka Governorate (Syria), agricultural activities which they apply it, the services which provided public institutions for Barley's Farmers, and the relationship between some Characteristics of Barley's Farmers and their innovativeness.

To achieve the objectives of the Sudy a special que^ionnaire was designed for interviewing Barley's Farmers.

The total number of completed que^ionnaires was 150.

The collecting data continued from February to April 2014.

The mo^ important results of Sudy were as a follow: about 66.7% of respondents were aged, 57.3% of them were owners, 67.7% planted without irrigation, 77.3% depend on private sector for inputs, 66.7% don’t credit, and 69.3% sell their product to private sector .

The most barriers reported by farmers were lack of irrigation 68% , and lack of agricultural inputs with high its prices 56% .

While the mo^ sugge^s repeating were irrigation supplying 73.3%, and inputs supplying by government 59.3% .

Most of respondents had medium innovativeness 73.3% , and there were relationship between innovativeness degree and information sources, education, size of holding, nature of holding, and existence of other job at significance level 5%.
