Abstract EN
The article focuses on the values and modalities of citizens' commitment.
It aims to question the link between the objective socioeconomic conditions of individuals and the values and ideologies they defend.
More precisely, it attempts to analyse the influence of social conditions and positions on the values of citizen participation, on the one hand, and of the environment, on the other.
Contrary to the positivist idea according to which the socioeconomic variable would be determinant to explain the commitment of the actors in favour of the natural environment, this study shows that this deterministic projection is far from being the central engine of the action.

L’article s’intéresse aux valeurs et aux modalités d’engagement des citoyens.
Il questionne le lien entre les conditions socio-économiques objectives des individus, les valeurs et idéologies qu’ils défendent.
Plus précisément, il s’agit d’analyser l’influence des conditions et des positions sociales sur les valeurs de participation citoyenne, d’une part et d’environnement de l’autre.
Contrairement à l’idée positiviste selon laquelle la variable socio-économique serait déterminante pour expliquer l’engagement des acteurs en faveur de l’environnement naturel, cette étude montre que cette projection déterministe est loin d’être le moteur central de l’action.
