Abstract EN

This article is intended to form an introductory theoretical approach for understanding the social implications for the possible implementations of a peace plan along the lines of the Oslo Agreement.

Surveys carried out by Palestinian research centers indicate that the envisaged Palestinian State may have to absorb some one -and- half million Palestinian returnees.

The rest of the Palestinian refugees are expected to continue in their present places of residence.

The author speculates that such a solution to the Palestinian problem will possibly break the Palestinian collective national identity into a large number of smaller entities, and their may be a lot of struggle and conflict among these entities.

The article goes on to speculate about the fault lines for the break up of Palestinian identity, and the causes for the conflicts along these fault lines.
