Abstract EN

The current research aims to build a scale tool for alternative assessment strategies in the Colleges of Education from the viewpoint of the College staff members.

The current research has identified a sample of College staff members in the College of Education in Basrah province for the academic year (2020-2021) and the researcher used the scale in its initial form (33) paragraphs as a tool for research and it was presented to a group of professors and experts specialized in teaching methods, measurement and educational evaluation, and after collecting and dispersing the forms, we obtained a set of paragraphs so that the number of paragraphs of the scale in its final form consisted of (20) paragraphs according to the (Likert) method that has five alternatives, namely ( Use it to a very large extent, use it to a large extent, use it to a moderate degree, use it to a small degree, do not use it), by presenting it to the arbitrators to find the apparent and discriminatory validity, and the stability was found by the two methods of split-half, and the value of the correlation coefficient between the two halves of the current scale which was the odd and even items,( 0.823), after correcting the correlation coefficient between the two halves by the Spearman-Brown equation, the total reliability coefficient reached (0.903), and the sample of College staff members reached (253) instructors and trainers who are distributed according to gender.

The statistical results showed that College members using alternative evaluation strategies at an average level, and this is due to the reasons for the low level of motivation and willingness and desire to use alternative assessment strategies and their lack of knowledge of the concept of alternative assessment strategies.

This means that the faculty employs alternative evaluation strategies, but at a simple level below the optimal level required to advance the educational reality in the College of education
