The last Crimean crisis has been the axis of the international strategic competition over the areas of vital influence, particularly between the two poles of the Cold War.

The Crimean peninsula is the scene of the interactions between the various powers of the international system (the United States, Russia and the European Union).

The west sees Ukraine as a vital passage for European countries, while Russia considers the Crimean annexation as a historic right.

The study aims to analyse the Russian strategy in Eurasia due to the crisis in the Crimea, and how Russia tries to win the challenge of international competition through its geostrategical orientations in its energetical dimension (especially employing the natural gas variable) in the location and control of the geopolitical axes.

The North Atlantic with its eastern border and this is evident in its geostrategic options in its Eurasian biosphere, including its annexation of the Crimea in 2014 to stop the process of the integration of Ukraine to the European Union, which would not have an effect on its interests in the Eurasian vital region.
