SummaryThe scientific endowment is considered as the first civil institution in the human history.

It is the principal source of funding to support cultural and educational projects, essentially in Islamic and Arab societies, because the Islamic nation inherited it from generations throughout its long history.

The scientific endowment had a leading role to support scientific research projects, in particular higher studies, publications, research of scientists and researchers and learners.

There were cultural and educational institutions as libraries, publishing houses, small mosques and Koran schools; some contained millions of books, notes, and scientific theses depending and based on scientific endowment.
