Abstract EN

The main objective of this study is to determine the important factors that affect the behavior of government expenditure in Saudi Arabia.

For achieving this objective a single-equation model of the government expenditure in Saudi Arabia is specified and estimated.

The Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root test is used to determine wither the time series data that is used in this study are stationary or nonstationary.

The unit root test shows that the time series data under are non stationary in their levels, however they are stationary at their first differences.

The empirical results that emerge from estimating the model by the ordinary least square method indicate that the correlation coefficient is noticeably high (0.917).

This means that the overall fit of regression is very good with three explanatory variables jointly explaining a large proportion of the total variations of the government expenditure.

This means that the model fits the actual data very well.

The results of the cointergration test indicate that a long-run and equilibrium relationship exists between the real government expenditure in Saudi Arabia and the real non- oil GDP, oil government revenue, and the population growth .
